Learn how positive peer interactions play a vital role in the social and emotional development of children.
Positive peer interactions happen when someone’s peers influence them to do something positive or growth building. When selecting a child care provider, ask about their curriculum. How does it provide support and guidance, as children influence and motivate each other to do their best?
At T.L.C. Child Enrichment we believe positive peer interactions plays a vital role in the social and emotional development of children. Here are three key elements that support kids in becoming Positive Peer Heroes.
Provide a safe, creative and loving learning environment. This gives children the confidence to observe, interact and explore as individuals and in group settings both small and large.
Ensure the curriculum encourages Educators to engage and reinforce positive behaviors with lesson planning that utilizes language and actions to encourage others to emulate. Clapping and cheering, offering a thumbs up or praise are all great ways to increase the likelihood that an observant child will strive to get the same reaction.
Encourage positive friendships and role models. Encourage friendships with other children who seem to have a positive influence in the classroom, and encourage each child to be a positive influence toward others.
